Always dowloading "Corrupted Files"

For the past 3 days ro so every tiem I have tried to download anything, whether it be from a flash player to a giant file of javascript programming, in any browser, firefox, IE, chrome, and swiftkit, it always says when i try to run it "Corrupted files" or when i try to unzip it. i don't know what is causing this and would greatly appreciate some help.

Could be any number of reasons why this is happening, but if it was me I would be running any number of the excellent free AV software. It may as simple as a LOS cookie a adware cookie that is causing this. the better privacy plugin in Firefox will clean flash cookie and others, also if your not using noscript as well you might consider it, especially on a windows OS.

It is a FF add-on that blocks flash. It is irritating at first until you find a way to use it. I just also install the toolbar buttons add on from FF add-ons and then you can put a okay per what your viewing and stop for what your viewing icon in the tool bar so that when you come across something that you don't globally okay from the Icon at the bottom of the page, you can clear for view then block it again. A couple of other add-ons I use are wot, ghostery, better privacy, and adblock plus. These all will stop almost everything from popping up or running a script based in a flash popup. Also are you using your computer from a limited account, that alone is the 1st protection, not running on the web with root access, without a strong password. I use all of these even though as I type this I am on Lucid Lynx a open source OS.

Ya, Ya, superantispyware is another one that will find stuff malwarebytes isn't designed to catch or misses.

ill try downlaoding some of the virus protection thigns you suggested, but my luck, they'll end up being corrupted also! and no, i dont use a limited account, i run everythign as administer with no password. cuz im an idiot like that who is to lazy to type in passwords

also i dont have any virus protection already because i was too lazy to download or install any the day I bought the computer.

CCleaner and Malwarebytes and superantispyware. none of them able to be downloaded. problem: corrupted files. i knew that was gonna happen.

I ma going to kill my friend for convincing me to download those 10 different versions of runescape private servers trying to get it set up for him. -.-

I had to work on a friends computer yesterday that was so infected it wouldn't boot so I just downloaded the links to my computer put them on a thumb got into the safe mode command and ran chkdsk and was able to finally get in. I then plugged my thumb in and ran both to install and cleaned out over 260 hits, it was fried though, so I just did a fresh install. So this was a person running XP without passwords and in admin, if that doesn't motivate you then well just make sure you can recover or have a install dvd. It's not the OS, it's the user, all of that could have easily been blocked or caught with the OS locked down correctly. It is okay now because he actually understands what I have been telling him about protection, and is all set up correctly now.

You will need to take a USB Flash drive to a coffee shop or Library or a friends computer and download the tools/software you need to run them on your computer. I would make sure you unzip/unpack them so they are ready to install from the Flash drive. Get the portable version of CCleaner and unzip it on the Flash drive. On the net now-a-days without antivirus is not good, especially if you are logged on as Administrator.

bah. tomorrow ill boot up my old laptop with the cracked screen and plug it into my spair small screen and download it to my school flash drive. i jsut hope its big enough, only 1gb. maybe i will borrow a friends that has a 30gb.

and i understand the need to do it, im jsut to lazy. I've reinstalled windows on old computers all added up at least 5 times in the past 6 years. so pretty much a yearly thing.

the biggest bummer is that this computer is ony 5 months old. so i think first i will order the recover disks from the manufacturer for $20 (dont want to use teh create myself option, my luck some virus would destroy those) and reboot the hard drive, THEN do all of this

I just used my reset partition to restore computer to factory defaults, and am now downlaoding all 3 antiviruses you guys suggested before I do ANYTHING else

oh yes, I am also using a limited account with both the limited and admin being password protected

Ok, i got CCleaner and superantispyware, but malwarebytes it wont let me download because of an unknown publihser. any ideas?
