Many people told me have to completely uninstall old version driver first, then install latest version.

Can I use the latest version [AMD Catalyst™ Display Driver] cover install to update driver?

It used to be recommended to uninstall/reboot/reinstall, but I have had success lately with just running the updater from within Catalyst Control Center. :)

Is this onboard graphics with an AMD APU?

AMD Accelerated Processors for Desktop PCs

The Catalyst Control Center, etc, is included with that package. I don't have it installed myself, but I think you can update the driver independently. The APU basically lets you use the processing power of the video chip for tasks which benefit from parallel processing. Think of your main CPU as a powerful processor which handles big tasks one at a time. A video processor is basically a whole lot of little processors which can do tiny chunks of work simultaneously.

What happens when you try to update through CCC? :)

I would try running the driver installation available at the link in my first post. If you encounter problems afterward, uninstall all ATI stuff through Control Panel, reboot, then reinstall it. :)

Despite the fact that nothing changes

Not entirely true. One thing that gets added when you have an AMD card on an AMD based system is CPU Overdrive,

vecc1.jpg

Never used it myself as I do all my overclocking through the bios, but is there for those that want to overclock via software (and quite possibly even works on something like a Dell or HP that doesn't have any of the necessary settings in the bios).

Now,I have a new discovery
in BIOS,change External Clock,[AMD VISION Engine Control Center]nothing changes.

But,in BIOS,change Multiplier Factor,[AMD VISION Engine Control Center] these options will disappear :D
