Hi all.
I am experiencing lately a problem with my hp laptop.
This laptop got 2 display drivers : Intel HD display and ATI Radeon HD 5450 Graphics.
I found out suddenly when I wanted to play a game that the ATI display driver disappeared because the game didn't start and showed me an error of incompatible drivers.
I tried to restore back to an earlier date but it didn't help.
I tried also to get it recognized from amd website and hp website, nothing helped.
Now, I can only see the Intel HD graphics driver in device manager.

Any ideas on how can I fix this issue?
Thanks All,
Karim

Hi and welcome to Seven Forums ... You have tried a system Restore which didn't help ? You could try a repair install if you have the Windows disc ... As it is not recognised in the Device Manager ... It may be that it has gone dead ... Below is the link for the Repair and Install.

This is a switchable graphics issue you should have a CCC installed and Intel Hd

Use the Intel HD to disable onboard and the Other Graphics should kick in

Hey, thanks for that it actually worked for me but the second time I booted the system I got the same problem.
Do you think it might be related to the windows 7 32-bit running on 64-bit machine.
P.S.: I've experienced this problem when I formated my brand new hp and installed this 32-bit windows 7.

HI there ... Is the Graphics card not being detected in the Device manager ? If it is have you Installed the proper Driver from the HP website .... It is probably best that you are using the 32 bit os as you only have 3GB of Ram ... Would still be able to run the 64 Os if you so wish .

Hi there ... So where did Windows Ultimate come from ? Below is the link for your Graphics Card

AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver
2011-03-14 , Version:8.771.1.4000, 198.85M

Software & Driver Downloads HP Pavilion dv3-4061ee Entertainment Notebook PC | HP® Support

I am still not clear though on the matter of your Graphics Card as does it show in the Device Manager or not ? ... As you state the Driver does not show in the Device Manager.

I have downloaded it from the internet and burned on a dvd then installed it instead.
No, the driver is NOT showing in the device manager.
Thanks for your help!

Sounds like you downloaded a hacked copy of windows Windows 7 Ultimate is the most hacked of them all unfortunately we don't help people using hacked windows

You should revert your system to what it was when you bought it

Well laptops not getting a DVD copy of windows with it.... is standard practice, it's an OEM copy, only good for that PC install, and when first powered up, it should have asked to make virgin backup discs of the OS to put you back to factory install status, typically 2-4 DVDs worth of burns.

No Windows 7 sticker on the bottom of the laptop, you could try the support line for the brand, worse case you spring for an OEM or full retail, remember full retail is reusable on another PC if the first is not used anymore, OEM will not.

Purchasing examples:
Newegg.com - oem windows 7

or

Newegg.com - Software, Operating Systems, Retail

Sticker shock perhaps, but necessary evil.

One could argue you might be better off with a new laptop with Windows pre-loaded for a few hundred more and turn that current into a Linux Mint box (or other flavor you prefer, see distrowatch.com or linuxmint.com) :)
Just a thought, I know 99.9999999% likely laughed about. :roflmao:
Linux has come a long way baby! :geek:

It should but If you happen to find the install sticker you should be able to contact M$ and see if they will allow you to digital download and rip to install a disc they are pretty good with helping you recover your system

Well a legit wipe and drop is a good place to start, if you get through it, and it's still not right then you can call M$ for support.

I would suggest you get a trial copy first though of the version you want from here:

Windows 7 Direct Download Links

Only install the version you WANT to use.... so you don't have to do anything, but buy it and put in the code later and try your support lines for a qualified re-install first, so perhaps you avoid expenses, but don't tell them you installed some downloaded Ultimate, *click*

You are qualified for the original build's version ONLY, so Home Premium 64-bit is what you should be on your knees begging for, I guess.

My strategy would be to get image for that, at above link, do full install and then call.

I've got a slow internet connection here and during the 7-8 hours the internet could be gone for like 5 minutes.
