Solved AMD Phenom II X6 1055T max temperature?

Hi everyone,

I have a AMD Phenon II X6 1055T processor with the stock cooler and I was wondering what the max temp of the cpu is? I generally get on idle (desktop or web surfing) around 50 - 55°C and while gaming it goes to 60 - 75°C and this is wayyyy too high... It becomes a real problem when I try to render animations with Cinema 4D as it reached 76°C just now so I had to stop the render.

Does anyone know what the max temp is? And if there's any good cpu coolers that will fit it and keep it nice and cool

My motherboard is a Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3

I would aim for a absolute max of 55C. Cooler Master Hyper 212 is what I use on all my AMD systems and that keeps them nice and cool. With this heatsink on my systems under a heavy load not overclocked I get into the low 40C's depending on the seasons. I use 2 fans in push pull.

I am sure the UK site of Amazon will carry these parts too, make sure you see that Amazon is supplying the parts as RIP OFF MERCHANTS confuse the issue and charge $30 for a single fan and ship from Timbuktu....... Use the part numbers I supplied, I have these in 5 systems here in Indiana where in the summer the temps can get in the middle 35C range and in the Winter -20C is not uncommon (great for over-clocking as the room temp is about 21C to 25C). If you need any more info, just ask.

The Temp is 62c if you are going over that you might have damaged the chip where it will stay up there that way

You need to really change your cooling or clean it but that is way high

Normal idle is like 15 to 25c full load 40 to 45 c and 55c should be where you stop so it can have room so it does not reach 62c

Yes Check if your cpu fan is clean. My system used to run hot so i took a look and found it was packed full of dust and junk. I just blew it out with compressed air can and good as new. Check that first.

I have the same cpu as you do. I dont have the stock cooler though mine is the one step up.

How old is your machine? Is it a self build? I am wondering about thermal paste a little bit.

i keep mine below 65C under prime 95. normal use and gaming and rendering its 50C

Hi everyone, thanks for the help

I recently dusted out my PC and wow there was a LOT of dust!

And now my CPU idles at around 44°C and rarely goes over 65°C now. Yay!

I'm going to start dusting my pc every month now to keep it running cool.

But I shall buy a better CPU cooler when I have enough.
