AMD Radeon R4 Graphics for Windows 7 on Acer Aspire A315-21-63F1

Does anyone know how I can get working AMD Radeon R4 graphics drivers for Windows 7? I installed Windows 7 to a USB using an Acer Aspire A315-21-63F1 with WinToUSB. I loaded up Windows 10, installed Windows 7 with WinToUSB, restarted, entered the BIOS, changed Touchpad from Advanced to Basic, disabled USB 3.0, changed the boot from UEFI to Legacy, saved the changes, and then finished the rest of the installation just fine. Once I got 7 loaded up, I installed wireless first using the drivers from the Acer website, and then tried to install graphics with the drivers from the Acer website, but those did not work either.

This laptop's install of Windows 10 is completely unharmed as Windows 7 is running independent of the hard drive as it is running from a 1TB USB HDD.

What's the solution here? Do I need to "trick" the graphics from the Acer website by editing them, copying some files related to the graphics from the 10 install (which I can access from the USB installation), or is there something else that might work?

Any help is greatly appreciated on getting this figured out.

Hi

OK, lets ask the silly question first-- Is your W7 fully upto date. it will definately need Service pack 1

Update your Win 7 installation media

ps re-enable usb3 in bios

Get the driver directly from AMD.
if this fails whats the error code, screenshots please

you know where it is, seen your other posts;)

It does have SP1. The ISO that I'm using already has it. I cannot do that. It appears WinToUSB Windows 7 installations do not like USB 3.0. I have another computer that I did this with, and it worked fine until I installed the USB 3.0 drivers. Upon restart, I got the 0x07b error.

I found this https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-20-4-2 as the AMD software that is on my 10 install needs to update, and within it, it has a 7 installer. I did not try this version, but I did try 20.8.1 and got Error 182, which is I have a graphics setup that is not supported by this installer. Gonna try both of those later and see what happens.

in that case use another install media--- any standard install option, windows own iso downloader or rufus, sounds like theres a bug in w2usb. see the link i referred to and slipstream the graphics and usb drivers into it

SIW2 have you heard of a bug in w2usb

I reinstalled Windows 7 using WinToUSB. I had it working last night, but gave up and wiped it. To install it, I had to disable the blue USB 3.0 ports and plug it into the black USB 2.0 ports.

My AMD graphics needed to update on Windows 10, but it couldn't download it automatically, so I had to go to their website to grab the installer. I found two, one for 7, and the one for 10. I DLed both of them, and tried them out under 7. The one for 7 did not work and produced the Error 182 message, but the one for 10 did, however, upon restart, it did not update the driver like it was supposed to. It did have an option for Factory Restart that was not checked. Should I check that?

Hi

There is no reason why USB3 drivers should cause the crash unless there the wrong ones, you need the ones that are on your lappy.

As i said recreate your Iso and slipstream them into it, the graphics as well, then use this as your base iso
The disclaimer that USB3 cannot be used is because there not on a W7 Iso, thats why you need to import them into the image before you use w2usb

see the instructions from this tutorial --- read the first line

Update your Win 7 installation media
