ANN: New version 2.8.3 just released

It fixes a serious flaw in the previous versions 2.8.1 and 2.8.2 that can corrupt your registry when you uninstall them.
So if you use any of these 2 versions, it is highly recommended that you install 2.8.3 as soon as possible (without removing the old version first!) Upgrade from 2.8.1 -> 2.8.3 is safe, uninstalling 2.8.1 and then installing 2.8.3 is not safe!


Besides this fix, the new version:

• Adds a way to put shell folders as buttons in the toolbar
• Fixes a crash when browsing the assembly cache in the start menu

2.8.3 installed over 2.8.1 no problems, and no registry alterations (from what I can see)- whew! Thanks Ivo- awesome program- it fixes my main gripe with W7

Wow!! I thought my PC was Ferked!! start menu kept freezing up everything. Back to normal now. Well done Ivo. Keep it up.

Would it be possible to add the setting where you need to click on All Programs to open the list instead of the "hover" method??

Currently the hover time is controlled by the "MenuDelay" settings. You can set it to some huge number like 60000 (one minute). It will effectively disable the hovering. However it will also disable the hovering for sub-menus.

For the next version I can add a separate settings "AllProgramsDelay", so you can adjust the two times separately.

What theme? How is it not working? Do you believe somebody can read your post and figure out what you are trying to say?

i mean to say that the skin of start menu is like previous versions not like attached thumbnails.

Looks like you saw some screenshot and you are trying to get the same look of your start menu. Can you post a link to the screenshot here?
