Annoying Problem: Possible Culprit - IE9

My laptop is STILL suffering the same annoying problems even after I spent the whole day yesterday doing a non-destructive reinstall of my Win7 Home Premium (32 bits).

Other than that, my Win7 seems to be working fine.

The OS is fully updated and I imagine the problem has to do with IE 9.

The resulting consequences are:
- IE9 freezes too often;
- Desktop icons aren't functioning, while sometimes the taskbar doesn't responds at all;
- The "show desktop" doesn't work.

Solving the problem is easy, but frustrating: I just have to log off, and wait for the annoying problem to be back soon.

Note that these problems started some two weeks before Feb. 28, when I decided to do the nondestructive reinstall of my Win7 Home Premium (32 bits), complete with a full update.

After the reinstall I experimented with several of the programs I use mostly. Nothing happened. Everything worked fine. No problems whatsoever.

The problem is being caused by IE9 and its upgrades, I'm quite sure.

While using IE9 I have no problems accessing the dektop or opening the icons located on the dektop, or using the "show desktop" button.

Then, when I close IE9, I cannot open any icon shown on the desktop and the "show desktop" button doesn't responds.

Besides, IE9 freezes quite often.

The system is fully updated and the reinstall is fresh - only two days old.

Any help?

Regards,
Flores

When you say you have carried out "a non-destructive reinstall of my Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bits)." What does this mean a repair or a clean install?

I usually don't trust this kind of "tricks", just because there are updates (Like IE9) that litearaly go nuts after this type of installations.

I would reccomend that you uninstall IE9 and reinstall after and see if that solves your issue, if not, I guess you need to backup your data and use the recovery tool your laptop should have... in case you don't have any recovery options, clean install windows with your DVD and reinstall everything you need (including your personal data).

See ya!! :D

john to enlarge most images on the forum you have to click it, this image needs clicking about three times until it becomes full size.

@amflores you could just post a link to the webpage you have captured, by copying and pasting the url from the site and clicking the little globe with a chain link on the icon in the forum message editor

I've already done this. Now I'm using IE10, but the problem still persists.
I'm getting the courage to reformat and do a clean install.

Thanks,
Flores
