Running windows x86
Installed off the disc it didn't come with the computer
Original OS is Vista
The computer is around 4 - 5 years old
I re-installed the OS about a week ago as I wassuffering from BSOD and thought a re-installation would fix it.

About the anti-virus, I have Avast free version installed but i'm not sure why it dosen't recognize it.

Remove Avast and install MS Security Essentials.
Third-Party Anti-Virus can conflict with Windows 7.
Fill your system specs - 456GB memory?

Memtest, run at least 7 passes on a cold boot overnight:

Also, I need the model name of your networking card (Ethernet) and possibly wireless as well. Rt86win7.sys (Ethernet or Wireless) seems to be causing the BSOD.

I'm sorry to bump this topic but I just got the BSoD twice in about 5 minutes, I managed to catch this message:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I don't know if that's going to help or not, but I would really like this fixed.
