hey everyone i just built a computer today. and its the famous windows 7 not detecting hard drive but first here is my set up

amd fx 4100
gigabyte 970a-d3 mobo
kingston 4 gb ram (1 stick)
WD 500gb hard drive

now its the famous install. everything is brand new the new computer can not get any updates its not hooked to the internet, nor do i have a flash drive im on a crappy laptop right now that is surprisingly not fried yet, so i cant do anything updating yet, all i want to do is install windows 7 to my new pc, but it says no driver found, ive even tried putting in the mobo disc like gigabyte said to and still nothing. what can i do? my bios recognizes my cd/dvd rom drive and it also recognizes my hard drive. its all there. but windows 7 wont. is there something in the bios i need to change, i called microsoft and they told me i needed to reformat my hard drive but wouldnt tell me how, gigabyte told me the same thing and the computer store where i bought all my stuff wont touch my computer unless i give them $41 for diagnostics and $41 for install, the guy there is rude and doesnt seem to care about customers who made a HUGE purchase 2 hours before. any help plz ive tried alot of places and done alot of searching. everybuddy is saying update this update that but i cant the computer has no OS. it has boot screen, bios and windows install. please help!

Where did you get WIn7 and how do you plan to activate it? Did you burn the DVD yourself? This error is most often a bad installer.

Confirm ISO and burn another DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed or write to flash stick using Universal USB Installer with WIn7 in dropdown menu.

Next try wiping the HD first with Diskpart Clean Command accessed using DISKPART At PC Startup

Check your mobo specs to see if it is an EFI mobo as these require special steps for install: UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums
Installing Windows to an EFI-Based Computer

Waiting to hear if it is an EFI BIOS. Check now. You must do a whole different kind of install shown if so.

Did you wipe the HD if it is used yet?

its not used its brand new just came out of the package a few hours ago

If you don't have special partitioning needs requiring the Drive Options (below) then just click Next and the installer will create and format your installation partitions and proceed.

Read over these steps to get a perfect clean reinstall to apply those that relate to your installation: Clean Reinstall Windows 7 Factory OEM

Good news.

Look over the steps I gave you to make sure it's setup perfectly, then save a Win7 backup image so you never have to go through it again - just reimage the HD or its replacement in 20 minutes from the DVD and stored image.

now to figure out why it wont find my internet connection

That's why I posted the steps to a perfect reinstall and then tried to draw your attention to them just now again: Clean Reinstall Windows 7

The installer is mostly driver-complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Just in case, have your Wireless driver on flash stick or CD so you can get online quickly. Then enable hardware driver auto-updating and check for optional Updates.

Any drivers still missing in Device Manager after several rounds of Updates can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer or device, along with possibly needed hotfixes which you can also wait to see if you need. Driver Install - Device Manager

Go to the Support Downloads webpage for your Wireless or Ethernet LAN device (or mobo if it is built-in Ethernet), download the driver and install it, connect to Network.
