Anti Glare Screen/Film

Until I ultimately move my secondary rig into the bedroom, I'm annoyed daily by the reflections from my patio doors that shine on the screen of my old 17" CRT (no, I don't want to close the blinds}. I've Googled/eBayed some, looking for an inexpensive clear film that I could apply, something like one does on windshields or windows, but instead of filtering light, would simply prevent reflections.

The only things that I have found are either too small or too expensive. Most were for portable devices (cell phones and laptops or notebooks). Some for the portables were not too expensive, but the only thing that I've found so far for a 17" screen was what appeared to be a rigid plastic panel from 3M, but that was going for $110, which is more than my old CRT is worth. Does what I'm looking for even exist?

I came across this item that is what I have in mind, except that I'm afraid that the smoke tint will darken the screen too much, still it sort of illustrates what I had in mind:

Look for something polarized, doesn't even need to be tinted, just polarized. Do you have some polarized sunglasses you could test? to see if it cuts the glare enough?
