Any AMD APUs that perform better than Nvdia 620m?

I have a laptop that I'm currently using as my gaming system, but I want to move to a Lenovo twist or another smaller touchscreen system. I can't really afford a realy expensive system, and tbh I don't really want to as I'm not an extreme pc gamer (The only game that my laptop has a hard time with is Quantum Conundrum).

I'd probably get a dedicated card eventually, but I don't want to yet.

I want to build a system, but I really can't make heads or tails of the performance difference, because the 620m doesn't get compared to anything I'm looking at and all of the different models and names just make my head spin. I just want to know which intergrated GPUs are similar to or better than the 620m, if there even is any.

thanks.

How much is your budget for a new build?

That is true, but there is an old saying, "Buy once, cry once". I'd rather save and not blow money on inferior hardware unless is it absolutely necessary.

Darn, I was hoping someone would be able to make sense of this mess of different models, versions, and variations.

And I don't think I'd really upgrade enough to require replacing things. at most I'd add more ram, a ssd, and a video card that works with the IGP (with the Trinitys if you get a compatible video card it's a little like sli). Honesty? I'm not a serious gamer and I don't think I'll ever be.

OK, first off, go here and look for their videos on the A10-6800K Tek Syndicate ......there should be a couple. If you plan on doing any gaming with this system, whether it's casual, or not, go ahead and start with that CPU.

I just put together a system around that CPU and I can't get it down below $450. Your list has a MSI motherboard with some off brand PSU. These are NOT the places to cut corners. I honestly would save up another $100 or so and get some solid parts to start off this build. Here is what I would shoot for:

CPU: AMD A10-6800K --> Quad core and can be OC'd if you decide to.
MOBO: Asus F2A85-M/CSM --> I won't buy anything other than Asus motherboards and this seems to be able to do everything you want
RAM: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB 1866MHz Kit --> I chose this kit because 8GB is pretty much the new standard, Richland APU's are one of the few things that show quite a bit of improvement with faster RAM, and it's a hell of a price!
PSU: Corsair CX500M 500W PSU --> Modular, plenty of power, plenty of amperage on the +12v rail. I might even go with a SeaSonic 550W IF you plan on doing major upgrades to this system and don't want to have to buy another PSU
CASE: Corsair Obsidian 350D --> Hands down one of the best cases for the money. Either this of the Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 depending on which one is cheaper when you are ready to buy

I know that's about $100+(depending on sales of course) more than what you had put together, but it's 3-4 times better all around. Those are quality parts, and you have some scalability in there so if you do decide to upgrade, you won't have to buy anything else. A high end video card will go right in there with no issues and no having to buy something more than once. Save up and toss an SSD in there one day and you'll have a VERY fast system at a relatively low cost.

Isn't that case the one that Maximum PC or another magazine used for their dream machine this year? They had it painted beige, and it actually looked pretty awesome.

But thanks for the advice. In the end I don't quite know yet what I want. I might even get an Alienware x51 with a Dell payment plan, but I simply don't know yet.

I'm not sure......but I know everybody who has reviewed it has raved about it. It's a case that could last for a couple of new builds.
