you should look at Eureka and Warehouse 13.

Also, other good shows are:
Life on Mars (both US and UK versions are great)
The IT Crowd (UK sitcom based on a 4 team IT department)

I've been watching a lot of documentary type shows lately, Mega Builders, Mega Ships, Air Crash Investigations, Ancient Aliens, The Universe, Wonders of the Solar System, Wonders of the Universe, Cosmos, etc...

I watch a lot of Documentaries myself.
Ancient Aliens is pretty good. Some of it makes you think about things.

I think i really need to watch a few more 'Big Bang Theories' as i have seen the odd episode here and there and i have quite liked it but it just never seemed to stick.

How 'bout some of the interesting interview/reporting current events type shows: Anderson Cooper 360, Piers Morgan, Joy Behar, Nancy Grace, Dr. Drew, etc., not to mention all the super-politically charged ones! What do you have in the UK that's comparable, JDobbsy?

I don't do sitcoms. If they need a laugh track to tell me when to laugh then the jokes must really suck.
I don't do so called reality shows either. That said here's my two cents worth.

• Lie to Me. Sadly cancelled after three seasons. Get it on DVD.
• Blue Bloods. I was strongly resisting yet another cop show but this one has grown on me.
• Castle. Probably the most interesting show on TV right now.
• Wallender. BBC produced police detective drama set in Sweden. I bought three episodes of this on DVD after catching part of one on PBS.
• Kitchen Nightmares. Gordon Ramsey troubleshoots distressed restaurants. Does anyone know if the DVD is censored? I'd prefer an uncensored audio track.
• NCIS - The original.
• Antiques Roadshow
• CSI New York. I think the end is near for the CSI franchise. CSI Miami became an unintentional comedy several seasons ago CSI (Las Vegas) lost the character that glued the show together and all of them suffer from cookie cutter scripts. The hacks write a mediocre script and hand it off to the technical consultants to fill in the CSI to make it work. The resulting story ends up looking contrived.

I gave up on Criminal Minds years ago. The plots had devolved into a "Freak show of the week." How twisted are the hacks who write these scripts? I like the characters except for David Rossi who is a pale shadow of the Jason Gideon character he replaced.
The Mentalist is entertaining but formulaic.

"Days of our Thighs!"
and
"As the World Squirms!"

You can leave them for over a year and it only takes one episode to catch up.
They are about as boring as watching paint dry or the grass grow.
Tape them for wife when we have to leave for her MS Treatment.

I refer to the glorified game shows masquerading as reality such as Survivor or Dancing with the gigolos. This genre has little in common with reality outside of the minds of Hollywood producers. Neither Antiques Roadshow nor Kitchen Nightmares are contest shows which sets them apart from the pseudo-reality crap that I refuse to watch.

So I checked out a few of these.
Really like Eureka & Warehouse 13.
TY for the suggestions.
Had never seen them before, and currently watching them.

Life on Mars didn't quite grab my interest, but will give it another chance later. have'yt rules it out just yet.


So what else would everyone recommend for me?
Stargate SG-1/Atlantis/Universe, Firefly, V, Termintator SCC, Battlwestar Galactica are some of my favorites.

Through the Wormhole, The Universe, Ancient Aliens etc for documentaries.
I hate reality TV shows though ...
