Anyone use LavaSoft Ad-Aware ?

Anyone have recent experience and comments with LavaSoft Ad-Aware ?

I used/tested Ad-Aware many years ago, before it included an Anti-Virus.
Back then i decided to use MalwareBytes for real-time anti-malware security.
With current changes to MBAM 3 i'm looking for some alternative if MBAM 3 doesn't work things out and MBAM 2 is EOL.

Yea, i'm just looking for some option for a real-time Anti-Malware if MBAM 3 doesn't work for me and MBAM 2 is EOL.

I'm playing with Lavasoft right now in Win 10.
This OS has Windows Defender AV and MBAM 2 Premium, turned off.

I did read Lavasoft uses the BitDefender AV engine, which i guess is good.
I'm not a security expert so i can't test protection/detection results.
I can only test how a program works for me, usability/performance.

I'm not against using a different AV, heck i'm using several different AV's now on different systems.
I just want only 1 real-time AV and AM, to avoid possible conflicts.

I used it a few years ago but not recently.

Check out Zemana Antimalware and VoodooShield Pro as MBAM alternatives. You might find them interesting. Both have real time protection. I use both but I disable real time protection in Zemana and just use it as an on demand scanner.

Thanks, i do have Zemana AntiLogger Pro real-time on this system, but i can remove/disable that if i need to.

So far for me the biggest issue with Lavasoft, i get hundreds of event errors for this:

Error while updating status to SECURITY_PRODUCT_STATE_OFF (error 02000000).

and i haven't found out how to turn those messages off and still know i'm secure

Just guessing that it might be something to do with Action Center notifications.

I used Lavasoft AdAware a couple of years ago but ditched after less than one month. I don't remember why.

Thanks for that tip about VoodooShield, it looks interesting, something i want to try and could use if i drop MBAM !

RE: VoodooShield. I've used paid version for three years but it is still under development and configuration is an issue. It's cheap. You can get a free licence if you ask the developer over at Wilder's.
