April 2015 servicing stack update for Windows 7 (KB3020369) & files dates and versions
Hi!
Windows 7 Professional SP1 (x64). Checked - April 2015 servicing stack update for Windows 7 (KB 3020369) is installed (listed), but ... when I check files pointed in KB article (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3020369) then only file I see is dated and versioned as in article is Poqexec.exe (6.1.7601.18766 142,336 18-Feb-2015 07:04). I'm bit confused. Other files (most of those, at least, not checked all) is dated back to 2010. Is that ok? Don't see any problems running Windows's (not one, but several machines I already checked have same "oddity"). This update installed via Windows Update, presumably.
Drvstore.dll is 6.1.7601.17514 (11/21/2010 05:24), but in article it should be (after KB3020369 installed) as 6.1.7601.18766 (18-Feb-2015 07:05).
I missed something? Any ideas?
More thanks, Alar.

According to what I see it states in the article Drvstore.dll is only updated on 32bit versions of windows if April 2015 servicing stack update for Windows 7 (KB3020369) is installed.

That seems to agree with what I see on my 64bit machine. The files in WINSXS (red box) are the new version but have not made their way onto windows partition (yellow highlight) and the active versions are the old ones.

Hi and thanks!
Well, good. I mean, the same picture is on my devices, so, I'm not the only one. =) But, have You any ideas why those files have not made their way onto windows partition? Shouldn't they?
In article I see ...
---
For all supported x64-based versions of Windows 7 and of Windows Server 2008 R2
...
Drvstore.dll 6.1.7601.18766 423,424 18-Feb-2015 07:05 x64
---
Doesn't this mean this file is meant for 64-bit versions of Windows?
More thanks, Alar.

Okay I stand corrected. I've checked another machine and get the same results. The new version only exists in WINSXS.

On the machine I'm using now (work) the current version is:

drvstore_dll Properties.jpg

Also KB3020369 is installed.

KB3020369.jpg
On my home based machine I actually log all executable file changes during and after a windows update but unfortunately I don't keep those logs if no problems were apparent at the time or for a few days afterwards.

Now if I was willing to experiment I'd replace the system file with the one from WINSXS but as I see three machines (including yours) that retain the old file I suspect that there must be reasons for that but I don't know what those reasons are.

NOTE: Usual procedure for me when installing windows updates is:

Download updates but do not install them
Disable any on board security that could interfere with the update
Disconnect from internet
Install updates
Reboot.
