Solved Are hyper links in Onenote safe?

I hope this question isn't too stupid. I'm not sure about hyper links.
I understand they are convenient but are hyper links in Onenote safe?
When clipping articles and such, is OK to leave all those hyper links there or should I delete them?

I don't have a problem with Hyperlinks like above because it tells me where it is sending me to. I can decide whether or not I want to go to Malwarebytes.org or not.

When you Hyperlink a forum tutorial that sometimes doesn't tell you where it is going to send you.
I do it this way so other members know. Like this.

To answer your question.

If a Hyperlink is safe it will be safe where ever you put it.
One exception I can think of.

A safe Hyperlink today when you save it might not be safe tomorrow if for what ever reason the place it sends you to has been infected after you save it.

If I was going to copy and save a article off the internet and didn't need the Hyperlinks I would remove them. You have altered the article so I wouldn't recommend using the article as a quote.

Also while I'm here... are hot links and hyper links the same thing? I looked this up and could not find an answer.

Any link is safe as long as you do not click on it. A hyperlink by itself cannot do anything.

You won't know if it is safe until you go there.

If you are reading a article and it has tick HERE for a free computer tune up.
No way in hell am I going to tick on HERE. You don't know where HERE is going to send you.

Yes, I understand that whs, like spam in email etc...
I don't go to weird websites... at least I don't think I do.
I just like clipping articles etc. and was wondering about all the hyperlinks that transfer over with the clip.

You are absolutely correct.

My only concern would be if I sent that article to someone and they would tick on the Hyperlink.
Not knowing whether the Hyperlinks are safe or not I would leave them out of the article before I sent it to someone.

I just did a little testing.

If you copy and paste to Notepad the Hyperlink will be there. It just doesn't act as a Hyperlink.
It will not send you any place from Notepad.

If you now copy out of Notepad to a email and send. The Hyperlink will work as it should on the received email.

I am talking about Onenote.
I copy and paste articles etc. and all the links on the page will come along too.
If I'm in a hurry, I just copy and paste the page to a specific book, then go back later and delete what I don't want. It is faster than sending it to onenote with the clipper.
Then having to go in and fetch it from the inbox notebook and move the clip to a specific book.
Unless, of coarse if I take my time and choose what I copy and paste.

Yes, I already know they do Layback Bear. I clip things from here too.
All links work from any site I go and clip from.
I wasn't worried about if they work. Just if it is a safe practice to do that.
I have only been using Onenote for a few months but it is awesome.
It is way better than Evernote is for my needs, although I do use it for specific things.
All my clips, pics, recipes in one place. Helps keep me organized. I like that.

I guess it would be a 2 step operation if you want it in Onenote. Paste into Notepad first and then copy/paste into Onenote.
