Hey guys, ive recently seen in internet cafes that they use a program whatever
so that if you install anything on the computer, ie games, software, etc etc ..
once you turn off or restart the comp! its back to its original self again! and
everything you had just installed or did has gone!
and its left no trace on the compwhatever.

If i could do this and with the way my computer is how i want it to be, so that if anyone uses it and installs stuff i dont want on there etc, then once its restarted it goes back to the original self!

How or what do i need to do this?

Thanks.

Just use system restore, I will get the tutorial.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html

Set a system restore point, before using When done using the computer, go back to that point.

@1: I knew this was going to come up! lol... i know System Restore! but you have to do that! you get what i mean? there computers you just turn off or restart and its already done! like zip... haha nothing to do, just restart or power off and its back to its original self.

@2: rollback rx soppose that kind of does the same thing as System Rollback?

@3: SandBoxie ... erm, what?

Sounds like you're letting others have access to your computer with an admin account, or at least admin level access. Put a password on your account and if someone else wants to use the computer, only let them use a standard/limited user account or the guest account, then they can't install anything.

My school uses this exact same thing. The program is called DeepFreeze!

This is by far the best one I have seen, the best part is that you could do the system updates and it will remember to keep the windows updates and delete everything else. The best part is that it doesn't noticeably slow down the boot process at all!

When ever you want to install a program for good, and not get deleted just press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F6 and put in your password, and then not have any trouble.

I have a computer lab class for 1 hour every day in school and I am trying to crack that thing to let me isntall a program without me having the admin password and for 6 months now I still can't get it :O I deleted registry values, deleted the pogram files folder for it and every thing and it sitll keeps on working o.O

Hehe no no no ...

Ok, here it is, sometimes i go to an internet bar! and here in China internet bars are BIG! they are used 24/7 and usually have around 500 computers in one bar alone! so... they have this special software or whatever it is, i dont even have a name, what it does is .. you turn the computer on and do your things, install game after game, download movie after movie, etc... come when its your time to go, you turn the comp off.
Now when the new user come to the comp, they turn it on and BOOM! its from square one again, like brand new! with only the pre installed software etc which the internet bar has put on.

I hope you get all that, if you want yeah its a little like System Restore, but you dont need to do anything apart from restart or turn the comp off and when it comes back on again everything you did before INCLUDING passwords etc etc etc have all gone and no trace of what you did etc.

Any Ideas? lol ...

Edit: lol... yeah forgot that, schools use it too so when the kids use it and install crap and download viruses etc, it does the same thing! so now we have a name, DeepFreeze! anyone know of this program?

Thanks above post! :D

We are using this on a couple of systems. Works like a charm.

Faronics Deep Freeze Windows Editions - ABSOLUTE System Integrity

Thanks ... just found this one too DeepFreeze! but what i want to know is does it do what i want it to do? as this sounds like just something to keep your computer more safe! it will always revert back to the standard setup on how i set it?
Oh and a free one would be better too ... lol

Pay > Free

Just do a clean install of Windows with everything that you need installed, then install Deepfreeze. That's all you have to do :) When you have it, it's all self explanatory.

Can't help with the free part but this will do exactly what you want. The nice thing is you can "thaw" the computer to do administrative tasks like updates and then "freeze" it again when you're done.
