ASUS 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Card Code 10

Hy!
I have an Asus p5ad2 premium motherboard with a onboard wifi card. It works under XP but stopped working with win7. I have freshly installed windows, but that didn't seem to help. When i first installed it under win7, then the computer found the driver automatecly under device manager with update driver. After format it used to freeze the whole computer when updating the driver and now it says, that the driver is up to date (Marvell 2.7.1.10) but: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". There isn't even a wireless connection under network connections.
Windows 7 32bit
P4 3GHz
2,5GB RAM

Welcome to Seven Forums. The only WIFI driver I could find was for XP 64 bit. I'm wondering if we might be able to find a suitable driver for your card if you would go to device manager right click on the device>properties>details tab>drop down menu>select hardware id. Copy and Paste the hardware id string. Since it is a Marvell and is used by a lot of different manufacturers, we might just be able to find a better driver for it. Thanks. Fabe

hi karelo ,you could try a system restore back to the time before you had the problem and the card was working correctly http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html hope that helps

I'm also having this problem for a long time. I'm having the problem with Vista as well. With XP there were no problems. I've googled a lot and found nothing. Just threads that end with no answer. Is there anybody that has found a solution??

Red somewhere that problems with drivers occur when you install the driver after you installed the soundcard driver. I can't remember if i installed it after the soundcard drivers or not. I really hate to format c again but i quess i will try this but not any time soon.

Hmm i guess i did. Because sound is the first thing i wanted back. And the driver for sound is one i installed with XP compatibility because there also wasn't a sound driver for Win Vista/7. I'm not trying soon as well. Have you tried deleting the sound driver and then install the wireless? I think i'll try that.

Result: still no wireless. Not even when i disable all the onboard devices. The system even hangs when i try to install the driver trough Windows Update (the newest 2.7.1.10 driver). Maybe it works with a new install and not installing the sound driver but i'm not gonna try that. Don't want to reinstall and find out it doesn't work.

OK.. enough is enough. Going for formet c. Fingers crossed! I will try to install the wifi card before the other drivers and the sound card is unpluged.

Format c completed and no use. Right after the format c i did windows updates the card still didn't work. Allthough it did change to code 31. Tryed to update the drivers through device manager but it is still saying that the drivers are allready up to date. After i deleted the drivers and did "scan for hardware changes" it went back to code 10.
I'm totally buffed... i have absolutely no idea what to do anymore.

BTW! I have recieved zero responce in the "allmighty" asus forum. The thread has been up there for the same time it has been up here.

Sorry, what's a "live cd"?

The "live cd's" i know are CD's with a distribution of Linux on them that can boot the Operating System with the CD to try it.

I know... there were some previous threads there before. Maybe we can try to mail ASUS directly.

People have has issues with the PCE-N13 series cards from ASUS similar to the one you are having and I came across this solution.

Thanks for the reply but i can't find any similarity. The wireless mentioned in this thread is an onboard wireless on P5AD2 motherboards. It's a product of Marvell and the device is in the device manager but does not start (code 10). In the link you posted people see it working in the device manager but the software doesn't work.
