ASUS laptop stuck in reboot loop.

I reformatted my hard drive to install a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate, 64bit (I had Windows 7 Premium, 64bit before) and the installation ran just fine. After the installation, it boots up to what I guess is the desktop, waits a few moments, then just reboots. Every time before it boots it goes to the "Windows is loading files..." screen. I also tried 32bit, but got the same results. If you need more information, just ask and I'll be glad to provide it for you. A USB stick was used to install.

Yes, I have tried booting into safe mode, with no success, tried using the last known good boot (which would make no sense because it hasn't had one) what do you mean exactly by booting from the Windows 7 DVD?

Yes, once the installation was done, I removed the USB stick. It still shows the "Windows is loading files..." screen though.

Alright, I can't do it because it doesn't show up in the advanced boot options screen.

I'd also like to state that going into any form of safe mode has the same results. Shows up for about 3 seconds, then reboots.

You may need to go into the BIOS and check the boot order.

Not sure whick key you need to press at startup, but it'll typically be F2 or something similar.

You'll need to check the Boot order and make sure your Windows hard drive is first.

Hard drive is the 1st, my DVD drive second, 3rd boot is disabled. I had USB first at one pointed, but changed it after the installation.

I'm going to try using a DVD instead, and see if that does something. While that's going on, any more solutions to try out?

Can I ask where you got your copy of Windows 7 Ultimate from?

If it was an ISO it may be corrupted.

Also, which product key are you using to activate? If it's the one on your COA sticker, the ISO you download must be the same version, which in your case is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I bought a copy of Windows Ultimate, unfortunately I scratched the disc beyond repair on accident. So I had to download an ISO. I'll check the integrity of it.

OK, don't forget you can also burn the ISO to a DVD-R if the USB bootable drive proves to be a problem.

That's what I thought, so I'm re-downloading the ISO (on my brother's laptop at the moment) and I'll burn it to a DVD and see what results I get. How long should a installation of Windows Ultimate take? Mine was fairly quick, so maybe it's not doing everything it should.

Installation can take anywhere from 5 minutes to two hours depending on the system. Do you have an SSD?
