I am running Windows 7 build 7000, and I am having trouble trying to get my video card to work. The card is an ATI 7000 series VE PCI. It is recognized only as a standard VGA adaptor. Are there any known drivers out there. I tried importing my XP driver, but it failed to work as well.

Welcome to the Se7en Forums

Since many things in Vista are compatible with Windows 7, I did a search for a vista driver for your video card and came up empty. If any of our resident gurus know of a trick or two for this, feel free to contribute.

Thanks for the welcome.
Sounds like you had the same luck as I did. I even tried to find a modded driver to work for vista, but found no such luck there either. My goal is to be able to run the aero theme, as I have not seen it yet, I went from XP to Windows 7 without ever trying Vista. I may just have to purchase a graphics card that will work.

That might not be a bad idea - AGP cards are dirt cheap and I have Vista running full Aero on an x1650 Pro....

Online that card can be found as low as $60 US

So I went and purchased the e-geforce 6200, I was limited due to my board having no PCI-E or AGP slots. But this seemed to have resolved my issue. Aero looks real nice!! The only question I have now on this matter is how do I know I am running full Aero? I am in the midst of setting up a touch screen now, I will keep you posted on progress there. I have a Chipotle cash register terminl, which is nothing more than a tablet PC. I plan to use it as an interface for music and video. I got high hopes here!!

Interestingly enough, I used to work for IBM Global Services providing support to Chipotle stores...

Anywho, I am not sure how that is going to work - I still haven't gotten around to putting W7 on the laptop like I want (tablet PC)....

Interesting indeed, as that is exactly how I got this unit. My brother works as a sub-contractor if you would, for IBM global. The unit i have was dubbed "irrepairable" and he was sent to replace it. After replacement, I aquired it, as they never asked for its return, and found that that female end of power cord just needed to be resoldered to the board. Works fantastic, installing Windows 7 as I type.

I worked there in the Atlanta office for close to a year - it just so happened that one of my previous contractor positions was with Radiant Systems, installing POS systems and Back end servers for Einstein Brothers Bagel company through the US - so I had a lot of experience with the Radiant POS system already....

As for the Tablet PC you have - which model is it? Have you triple checked all the voltages going to the mobo - if that connector came loose I'd bet on shoddy employees not being careful enough, but it could be more than that.... - that thing should have been housed fairly tightly in there and it would take some serious fiddling (as in someone tripping over the power cord *numerous* times) to cause it to loosen off the board like that....

Well, of course, that depends upon the model that you have....

Oh, Radiant system is hautning me

Their overpriced systems are unbelievable  They break down ALL the time and they've costed me a lot of dough

ChikPOS has been fantastic. I've had NO problems with it whatsoever. It's a Jeremy Shum Invent so its a quality Aussie product too - helping the economy. The features are also endless... multi-language support, managerial decision making reports, not locked to hardware, fully multi-touch (like iphone), external monitor support, xbrl compliant, auto-generation of online store, can advertise "related products", corporate chat support, show time/date/news on external screen... it's just top stuff. AND it's Windows 7 compatible!
