ATI Radeon, Horrible Artifacts in 3D Games

Hello!

Background : Running Windows 7 x64 using a Radeon HD 6970. I am experiencing horrible artifacts in 3D Games. Issues are not present in any form under Windows, watching a video, etc. Only in games. (Tested in Crysis 2, World of Warcraft, Dirt 2)

I've already uninstalled Catalyst 11.9 drivers and reinstalled them (the latest version currently available)

The problem only recently started to occur...3D games were running fine under this card in the past. The temperature when running Crysis 2 on Ultra hovers around 68-70 which is warm but not overheating (no different than when the artifacts werent occuring)

Any suggestions? Or has the card become defective and needs to be RMA'ed? Never had a card die on me in the past so I'm new to whats actual hardware issues vs. potential software issues.

My badgerous senses are tingling towards bad RAM! youve got 16gb so thats either 4x4gb or 2x8, so just take a stick out at a time and try.

Looks like bad video ram...Diagnose video card problems by comparing with example corrupted screens

If you are overclocking set the card back to stock settings/
If not try to RMA the card/
If you have overclocked the warranty is most likely Void/
In that case try underclocking the card/....if all that fails...enjoy the new paperweight

I highly doubt the system RAM would be the issue since the issues are only present in 3D gaming, and do not occur outside of gaming.

Card has never been overclocked. Hard to compare whats occuring to the SS's on that website. The artifacts are appearing randomly all over the place as seen in the video link I provided. None of them are static.

Only install the 11.10 v3. You are not XFiring so you don't need the CAPs. Worth a shot. I agree with Ivan the SoSo, though: looks like the vram has gone bad. That's exactly what my 460 was doing and that's what was wrong with it, the video memory was shot. RMA time.
