Audio in Win7 is not working

Somehow the analog setting are still not enabled Could you select the device advance settings on that same snip and check what options are available there? Does it offer any analog settings?

One of the snips is with the device advance setting open. It does not have any analog settings. But i have tried them all anyways.

Ok, this looks good.

Select the speakers with a single left click, select the properties button, go to the Enhancements tab, Select Immediate mode (if it's not already) then select Disable All sound effects.

Next, go to the Recording Devices window, right click on the Mic and disable it.

Then let's see if it blows up! hehe...

Ap

p.s. You installed Creative Drivers for a Realtek sound card?? Drivers are not generic, they are hardware specific. You may have to do a clean reinstall again.

How many drivers did you install?

Oh, and if you have just the stereo speakers plugged in, select the speakers and then the "Configure Button" and set to stereo.

Ok tried the setting u suggested and will do a reboot and wee what happens.

About the drivers. I have never installed any kind of creative drivers. All i have put in is defferent kinds of Realtek drivers. From Realtek directly and from my MB website.
But i still fund that Creative registry entry. Should i restore system to get it back or is it ok with out?

It's probably ok.. late (or early) here, time to sleep.

I keep wondering if there's a hardware issue. Did you built this computer yourself?

If there any chance you could've connected the front audio jacks to the motherboard incorrectly?

No, that's right, it was working before.

Good luck!

Hi

Could you try uninstalling all the existing audio drivers and then reinstalling them?

I guess i could. Have done it like 5-10 times though. But sure, will do. What drivers do u suggest? Latest Realtek drivers or the ones from my MB website?

Try the latest from your motherboard site, if available, otherwise go with the realtek one if that is newer.
I think that we may be able to resolve this if we can enable the analog output

Yeah, the realtek one is newer. Just thought that maybe the MB drivers had some info that the MB needs.
But i'll try the Mb ones and see.
Yes that its stuck in digital seems to be the prob. I just dont get how we r gonna get it too analog.
But im hoping ;)

Seems we are going around the same loop here.
Could you try disabling digital audio in playback devices then set the speakers as default and step into the properties tab for speakers? Please post a snip of speaker properties including the config etc.

Regards

Thanks for the snips and sorry for the delay in response - could you confirm the following?

  1. Speakers are connected to the front or rear panel connectors?
  2. Are the connected speakers powered on?
  3. In your BIOS settings, have a look at the Azalia Codec, is this set to Auto?
  4. What was the version of the software driver you installed - Gigabyte 2.41 or the Realtek 2.53?
I'm out of solutions other than re-checking the hardware connection on your motherboard.
Gonna grab some rest and have a look again in the morning

Regards

I'm the one who is thankful. Ur helping me fix my comp on a sunday ;)

The speakers are connected, have tried with headphones in both panels aswell.
And they are powered on.
In my bios which i have even updated to help remedy this problem there is only auto or disable as options for Azalia. Tried both.

Im actually on the verge of buying a sound card to replace my onboard sound. U think the sound quality is noticeably better on a seperate good sound card than the onboard? And will it work?
