Also use a Dell XPS M1710 on Vista 32b
Asus LT on Vista 32
3 older machines still doing fine on Linux/ubuntu but not used much anymore...
I am getting a similar problem except my sound is the only thing affected. I just ran a test to see if it was the CPU and found that, compared to my CPU when it is doing nothing, the usage jumped to an occasional grand total of 5% for audio and 7% for video. I have NEVER had a virus or other harmful software, so that is not a possibility. I have noticed a significant jump in both the problem and CPU usage percentage while using anything internet based, we're talking a 20% to 30% jump and an equivalent jump in the severity and frequency of the glitches. I am currently recording a walkthrough for a game, so I need this problem fixed before I can continue. I was also wondering, this might be a solution, if current free hard drive space could affect this as well. My hard drive is down to 66.6GB of 500GB
