Auto switch to hdmi possible!?

Hello there,

I was wondering if in Windows 7, it is possible to switch my playback device to HDMI when I plug my TV into my HDMI port!?

i no that it was not possible on vista and i cant see that it is possible for it to be done automatic on 7 either.

To set your card to default for HDMI audio:
right click the volume icon/ choose playback devices/ make default the HDMI output

this works for ATI, Im guessing that Nvidia cards would be the same

i didnt think it was needed though, and should work without being switched.

It still doesn't automatically switch.. Is there anyway to put my sound on both devices at the same time or any other solution?

Are you sure you have the driver installed?

In the case of ATI, the HDMI audio driver is seperate from the graphics drivers.

Its included with CCC, but may need to be checked in the installers custom install section
