I know AVG is a dog program, but its the only good anti-Virus i know, since i dont like Avast schudled scanning notfication how it never goes away. I dont like MSE how it gets its update from windows update, so i throught i would go with AVG.

I have AVG firewall as i have internet security suite, however everytime i start my PC up i get a message from the firewall saying, that im using the Home and small office setting and in conntect to (WI-FI Name) I was just wondering is there a way to stop this? As it gets annoying

Well,
avast! Antivirus & Internet Security offers a really good protection. Others options are Avira Free Edition, Microsoft Security Essentials (free), Emsisoft Anti-Malware (On-Demand scanner), and last but not least, Comodo Free Antivirus. Also, I personally think that Comodo's firewall is very good. Pick any of these, they're all good IMHO.

In order to fix your connection problem, you must go to the settings of the antivirus, but, since I do not have the program, I cannot help you any further.

I'm still trying to understand this.
I dont like MSE how it gets its update from windows update,
Where else would a free Microsoft anti virus or firewall get it's updates from other than Microsoft.

I think Mitch656 would rather Microsoft Security Essentials have its own updater instead of using Windows Update, like me.

Yes that is correct.

I don't like that if i choose to check for update it comes that windows has a defination update, and then in update history it so full of Denfintion updates

Mitchell,
If you are using {paid} AVG Internet Security 2011 & require answers to any questions, I suggest you take advantage of AVG's Free Technical Support in Melbourne, Australia during business hours for the cost of a local phonecall.
If you prefer there is 24/7 email support available.

I have used the both the phone service & email support for queries. Answers have been prompt, courteous & in "understandable" English.

Disclaimer.
I use a paid version of AVG.
I am not employed by AVG.

BTW - I don't consider AVG a "dog" program.

AVG's customer support is great, I used AVG for a year and I can say that they really helped me and answered my questions politely. I use ESET now but, I can say that AVG is a really good security software. I had AVG Internet security (don't remember which version though).
