Everything that I suggest I use myself and they work great.
Once a week, or less if you do not use the computer too much, clean out the temporary folders and under stuff that is not needed.

I think that you will appreciate this. Here is my list of maintaing your computer. It gives many good tips. I think that the most important thing that you can do is use Macrium Reflect, as given in my first post. If anything happens, you always have a free back up of everything on your computer.
Here are my tips.

ignore, reg cleaners.

Steps that I did not notice on the guide include:

Running a scan disc before doing a defrag

Using Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes.

Making System Restore points, at least once a week

Makaing a system Image once a month (varies by user)

Not relying on your A/V common sense, should prevail. You know of many sites can cause a problem.

Do not use any reg cleaning or optimizing software.

Download and use Ccleaner about once every two months. Untick any registry entries.

If you follow these instructions, you will be trouble free for a long time to come.

Be sure to back up your hard drive about once a month (varies by user) and to keeep system restore points up to date.

Actually you can do it as often as you like, but not really needed unless you are having problems.

Put it on an external hard drive. Back up once a month and if anything happens; a bad virus or you cant boot, you will be all set. That is what I do, too.

Your copying Windows 7 and some software that you have? When I make an image with Macrium Reflect it takes just about 15 minutes.
