I have to send my desktop HP Pavillion 64 bit back to HP for repair. I have a MyBook from WD external Hard drive and backup every other day. I am wondering if there is a way to make sure that everything is backed up there...here's the stupid part. When I right-click and go to it...is the description on the left of the files in the external hard drive? Or, is it just telling me that the files are there. I am really not sure how to ask this effectively...

Maybe other Forum members will disagree, but I think you should do a full system image rather than backing up individual files. If you use the free Macrium Reflect it will let you know if the image completed successfully or not when finished. Save the image to your external hard drive. When you get the repaired HP back home, restore the system image. Your computer's files, including the operating system, installed software, all personal tweaks, etc will be exactly as it was the day you made the system image.
