Hello folks,
I am in the process of making backups of my files (not system). I used to use Syncback free, but now they moved to version 6 and changed the GUI, I find it confusing to work with. I am not too sure if the older version has bugs that will give me headache eventually.
I looked at free options and thought Backup Maker as one of the good programs. I am running some trial using it. Not being an expert in this, I am not too sure if I am setting up the backup correctly, but I have set up in such a way that if there are any files changed, it should run a partial back up. I deleted 2 files and it did not change the previous full backup. Backup Maker's forums are down. In case, if anyone knows what mistake I am making, will be glad if you could point that to me. The screenshot below.

Plus, this program makes backups as a zip file. I could not find an option to stop zipping the files.
My only avoidance for ZIP or XML files, I have had pretty bad experience in the past with these file formats (may be because of my stupidity), so that if something is going to go wrong, I should be able to extract few files, if not all and 'copying as it is' does not require any special software and can be pulled out by a noob like me using Ubuntu.
I am open to other softwares as well, if anyone has a suggestion.
Many thanks in advance.
