I am sorry i didn't reply back soon, but my problem solving spree ended on bios problems, windows installation problems after thoroughly testing of the memory it found 48000000 errors, so i decided to reseat the memory, blow some dust and testing module by module, i got one faulty module, but after retesting with memtest and reseating the memory it solved all memory problems, however, this was not the end of problems, bsod, freezes continued on windows, so a friend decided to check it out, found harddrive problems so he made some changes via command prompt.
This only made things worse because it had to reboot to apply changes but it never passed the black screen with only a mouse cursor.
I tried to reinstall windows 7 after formatting my partition, but bsod reappeared, i found the cd cable was the defect this time after a long trial and error.
This time i used another dvd drive but windows 7 installation never passed the device drivers screen, again after long trial and error no solution so i decided to do a workaround, first install xp and then install 7, however xp install also froze on the known 34 minutes left screen when it is trying to install devices, so again after much frustation i found a solution to disable usb legacy support in bios.
It worked, i finally got somewhere.
Xp finished installation and i decided to try the windows 7 install, same problem, no device drivers.
Switched multiple dvd drivers, didn't work, changed sata to use ahci instead of ide, this made things worse, xp froze and i was back again in trial and error mode, i flashed the bios earlier and that seemed to be the cause that win 7 install doesn't detect device drivers.
After setting to ahci mode the bios began to trouble also, so i reset the bios by disabling the cmos battery, let it cool down for awhile.
I retried, got past the bios screen and tried to reinstall xp AGAIN.
Xp finished and it still froze on me, for awhile i thought it might be a motherboard error, because it started acting weirder after lots of rebooting.
Before i flashed my bios, it started to display strange symbols and had a harder time to get past bios post screen, that is why i flashed it.
Well i decided to enable both dvd drives but that was a big mistake, the cable of the slave drive was defect so it froze on me in xp.
I decided to disable it in bios and then plug out the drive but my bios froze.
So i plugged in the cable while the pc was still running and the whole pc shut down, it short-circuited.
Very very dumb of me, i was shocked and unplugged everything.
I was hoping this was the safety that shutdown my pc so that it prevents permanent damage.
After this i decided it was time to let my dad fall in.
He has way more experience with this and has a better understanding of the possible cause(s) from these problems.
So he started pulling out every single piece of hardware and test it one by one.
He replaced the dvd drive and replaced the defect cable.
First we reinstalled xp, it worked flawlessly and then installed windows 7, no problems
He told me to test it in this state for awhile, play games, music and if it works, we can start plugging in the other hardware.
I suspect i might be the graphics card that wasn't correctly seated, but i'll see that tomorrow.
I've certainly learned many things in this frustating, trial and error journey
I had never expected that a bsod can have so many causes, much much more then i expected.
I hope someone with similar problems can find the solution to his/her problem in this post.
Thanks for all your help people.
