Hi All,
Greets,
kabbow : Sir,
Welcome to SevenForums!
1. Why do you think that you can't boot from USB drive ? Don't you use USB drives ?
2. What's that repair disc ISO you have ? Win 7 standard system repair disc iso or .... ?
3. It seems you are not able to boot into win 7 at all ? Is it a dual boot on the same internal hard disk ? Are you able to boot & use Ubuntu ?

Let us know.

Thanks & Regards. ...

boot processing is controlled via BIOS settings, i have NEVER seen one that does not have this option.
download Easybcd, should show whats available
notes
W7 hates being 2nd in the boot order
if your specs are correct 1.75 ram is WAY to small

I agree with you about his specs. Usually, 2 GB of RAM would only be used in Win 7 Starter and it would be a 32 bit system. He would definitely want to disable all Aero effects with that little bit of RAM to be able to do anything of significance. If he started out with Starter and switched to 64 bit Ultimate, that would definitely cause these kinds of problems.

I wonder if he can access the BIOS during the POST. If so, he would make sure a USB drive was a boot option before the hard drive boot. Then, if he has a friend who would let him burn the Easy Recovery Essentials utility in the link I provided to a flash drive, he could boot from it to attempt the repair.
