After I installed my Belkin N150 wireless router, my desktop computer crashed.
Windows 7 will not boot up. Anyone else had this problem and how did
you solve it?

Thanks much.

Hi Thiz and welcome to W7 Forums

A router itself should not cause your computer to crash, whether it is connected via Ethernet or wirelessly. It is more than likely down to a driver conflict between that for your wireless adapter and some other hardware/driver. What is the make and model number of the adapter?

You should be able to boot your system by following this Tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/666-advanced-boot-options.html and selecting the option Last Known Good Configuration (advanced). Don't forget to unplug the wireless adapter and connect with an Ethernet cable, if possible.

Now that you are running again (hopefully), go to the adapter manufacturer's website and download the latest driver. Follow any installation instructions provided.

And if this is a ROUTER you are talking about, and not a WIRELESS ADAPTER, you should not need to install anything to use it. Did you install a "configuration program"?

You can access and configure almost all routers through your web browser. No need for any drivers or software.

Thanks so much, Peeps ...

but the F8 didn't do anything. For some reason, it appears my
boot files are among the missing. I have ordered a disc
for Win 7 Home Premium so I guess I'll have to use that to solve
the problem.

Here's another gem for ya ... whomever installed my new laptop
with Win7 didn't bother to give it a product key so I basically
have no OS on here. Called the vender (return computer at
great cost to me), contact Microsoft (to no avail) or Acer.
Not one can give me a product key ... hence my ordering Win7.

Yeah ... I'm having great luck with my computers these days ...

Hi Thiz, Check to see if the product key sticker is on the base of the pc , inside the side panel, etc If the PC was bought retail then there should have been a legitimate OS version installed :)
