I recently got a Roccat Lua, which I find uncomfortable as I use palm grip while working/gaming for long hours and I have moderately large hands; I'm worried about some kind of injury. Which of these following budget 'mice' do you think will suit me and is reasonably good hardware?

Info:I found my (now deceased) Razer Abyssus quite comfortable for 3 years....

1) Logitech G100 [priority] (Logitech G 100 Gaming Mouse - Logitech: Flipkart.com)

2)Logitech G400

3)E-Blue Cobra (http://www.tradus.com/e-blue-cobra-5d-gaming-mouse/p/MOU0000004538558)

Can't spend more than 1500 INR :( , give or take a couple of hundred Rupees...as I have to soon upgrade my gfx too.

This will be like the Egg and Chicken question... multiple answers and perhaps none will help you.

I had a Logitech G7 wireless I loved but had to let go because, being wireless would have some sort of hiccup while in heavy battles, ie: reaction times would suffer and it was enough to be killed instead of continuing forward.

Now I have a Logitech G9, awesome mouse because of the multiple options it gives you for general use and gaming but, in 3 or more years I have never gotten comfortable with it... hard to explain.

I am in the same boat you are, looking for a mouse but I can't seem to be able to spend money on another one because budget is tight, this one works fine and what if this other one is similar or even worse... such is life in the tropics :D

True,, very true. That is the gist of my problem, if I go spend another load of money (which I can ill afford) on g400 or g100 and find it has the same grip problem; then what  ?

PS. Saying that Lua is a very attractive and speedy mouse as gaming mice go...majority of the reviewers/users think too that it is small for even medium sized hands. Is the G100 okay in that regard,as it fits the budget just fine. Or else, failing that, are the other two I've named? g400 costs the most.

Okay guys, as it seems to be a chicken and egg question as previously pointed out here, is the g100 mouse is comfortable with palm grip for big hands or I have to try g400. I understand both are good gaming gears, any opinion would help. Thanks in advance.

Going by LOOK only as I have no way to feel both those devices, I have to say they look extremely small for a Medium Hand, let alone a Big Hand, then again... looks could be deceiving. Great help huh ;) :o

Found this Review, it seems like the G9X or the Corsair are the way to go

Also found this youtube video, did not see it at all but it may help you? :p

Logitech G400 get that use it myself best mouse i've ever owned. Totally worth it and has software to change dpi and polling rates in the software provided by logitech and gets software updates. Totally worth the money. I recommend it. Also really responsive and has these little buttons on the side to change pages back or forward when browsing which i feel i can't live without anymore and you can bind them to commands in games also which I use like in TF2 for when i play spy to be able to cloak a bit quicker and be able to change from enemy or friendly disguises which really helps me out or like in max payne 3 which i bind to be able to activate bullet time and have max take pills to refill health quicker and I find it more convenient.

I was just a bit late seeing you reply...now I'm a little bit crestfallen for that. See, I've got this very good discount in a local pc store for Razer Deathadder Black Ed. the price came down to almost as same as G400, and he convinced me that g400 has an issue with its sensor after 4/5 months use...and I bought the DA :o Suffice it to say it is a humongous mouse (it even dwarves my moderately big hands) especially on my CM Storm Speed RX [Small] pad; it's so big & heavy my hands are actually trembling to cope! I don't know how long it will take to adjust, if at all , as the horse has already bolted the stable!!

Any opinions guys on the suggested polling rate(500 default & DPI 1800) and work room temp. as the weather is currently very hot & humid. Razer has suggested something about that I couldn't rightly understand.....whew, that is a long post

Okay, some say polling rate need not exceed 125 or 250 (Roccat had these options) polling rate [haven't verified that fact though], my DA Black Ed. has been set at 125 I think, next options are 500 and 1000 - no 250. I'll switch between 125 & 500. DA Black Ed.'s problem is they have the profile switch button near the sensor of the mouse ...and it's a very flimsy one!

ok i know i am replying quite late and in all probability you must have bought one for yourself by now but still i am suggesting a mouse. now in this "egg and chicken" question (as said by AstaLaVista) this is like introducing a broccoli :D actually the mouse i am suggesting is in now way possible a gaming mouse. ofcourse you can play with it (like i do play CS:GO) but it has no extra thumb button or any such gaming feature. i am not a hardcore gamer. but i am an architect and it requires you to work for about 6-8 hours daily on computer for designing purposes. i have very large hands with a big palm and long fingers. i am also been in search for a big mouse that has form that allows your hand to rest on it in the laziest manner possible. i ended up with DELL MS111-P . this is by far the best big mouse i have come across for a palm grip and for long hours of working for people with big hands. it does not have gaming features and looks ordinary with no LED lights or stylistic materials but its form is just mind blowing for long hours of working as it supports your hand completely. given the cost Rs. 230 it is something you might wanna buy to give ur hands a change from your regular mouse and change the position you keep your hand in, every now and then. i would have ruined my hand using a targus if it were not for this big lady :) i am on a budget tighter than your's so stuff like roccat, razer, and r.a.t are just not an option :) plus i am a designer first and then a casual gamer.
hope it helps.

actually the mouse i am suggesting is in now way possible a gaming mouse.

To be honest, the only "real" difference between an average mouse and a gaming one is the polling rate and DPI. You can still game with a standard mouse. The main thing really is comfort.

Average mice have a 125hz polling rate and a 800DPI. Gaming mice can be 125hz/500hz/1000hz and usually have a higher DPI, 800+. More buttons/flashing lights are just "extras".

However you can notice a difference when using a higher polling rate (ie between 125hz and 500hz. You can't notice between 500hz and 1000hz) and a higher DPI. It does tend to make it hard to going back to an average mouse, even outside of games. Personally I find 125hz/800DPI to be very sluggish.

I've gone through a fair few gaming mice and I prefer my Thermaltake Theron because it's very comfortable for me and my grip style. it's one of the reasons I've through a few mice. But what suits me won't suit everyone.

That theron looks like a G9 in disguise or am I wrong... I love my G9 but again, it is the most uncomfortable mouse I have used to date.

I do love the way I can set it up for most games without having to have dedicated settings for each every other game.

Nah, I don't think it is just going by G9 pics. But there do appear to be some similarities though. Hard to tell without ever trying the G9 however.

The Theron also has a right side button too which suits my grip style.

The way I hold a mouse is: R-Thumb for movement/side buttons - Index for L-Click/scroll - Middle finger for R-Click and Ring finger for the right side button/opposite side movement. My lower palm/wrist is usually planted in a fixed spot and the mouse is mainly controlled between Thumb and ring finger. (In a claw shape, held on a 30-45 degree anti-clockwise angle)

How you actually grip and move the mouse has a huge impact on comfort. That's why one size will never fit all.

Another mouse I find very comfortable is the Razer Imperator - but it does not have a right side button.

The most uncomfortable mouse I have personally used was the Razer Lachesis, an ambidextrous design. Great mouse, but uncomfortable.

Being right handed, this is how I mostly use it for all my Shooter Games... there is something about the shape of the mouse and my hand (big hand) that we just does not play well together. Budget and the likeness of its option does not allow me to get another one.
