What is the most popular (or best- if you may) progressive rock radio station in Great Britain (that has a streaming feed)?

Don't know any prog rock stations, you're probably best listening to last.fm and selecting a particular artist, then it will match with similar genres

Yeah Last.fm and Pandora are cool on the computer but I'm looking for internet radio streams. Haven't figured out how to get their streams to work on my receiver.

And maybe you Brits refer to it as Alt-Rock? These are pretty standard genres on the radio lists for we neanderthals across the pond!

No it does not! I will definitely check that out.

For US stations I can use this site here: Radio-Locator and look at stations by genre. So I was sort of working my way through the list, but shortcuts are always good.

But it's incredible how many stations there are around the world. The proverbial needle in a haystack. I just connected my receiver to the web this week (it involved buying and installing a network switch - that's why it took over a year ) and I'm trying to fill the presets, and I'm lazy!

I am not discounting that I am just a Noob, and can't figure out how to link to the stream, but it seems to me at this point that the A/V Receiver I am playing with is limited in stream formats it will do.

My PC has no problem connecting and playing all of the streams on broadcast radio stations including Live 105. The receiver, using the same url copied from the computer's browser window, ends in a "connection failure".

Looking at the list of internet radio station streams I do have working I notice that all the urls end in .pls , .m3u , .asx , or .php. It seems if the stream does not feed a playlist it won't work on the receiver.

Unless anyone here knows how to stream the playlists on these stations. I'm still workin' on it!
