Beware of Chrome

It only listens because you tell it to. So many people against Chrome. If you know what you're doing you can configure Chrome so that it can't listen, won't collect data, and can be the fastest, safest, most stable browser on the market. I've been using it since it came out (along with FF, Maxthon, IE, and whatever else is out there), and I have never had one issue with with any browser doing something I didn't want it to. My security and privacy have never been compromised. Not that it matters since I do nothing bad, or do any type of things that would be bad if someone knew what I was doing. I consider simply being online that all I do is not 100% private. If you're truly worried about privacy/security, and don't know how to configure your browser, then disconnect, and stay offline. It's as simple as that.

Users have to first know about the feature and its problem before they can change Chrome's configuration. Hence threads like this to warn people not to trust the feature as it is currently implemented.

The fact that other forum members opted to chime in with negative things that they have read about Chrome is just the nature of such threads. Most of those posting these negative things have never done an once of testing - they are simply repeating what they have read - or worse, what they think is happening.

By the same token, you have posted a string of positive aspects about Chrome without citing any proof to those claims. The two claims that I would challenge you to back up are:
Chrome is the safest browser.
Chrome can be configured not to collect data.

I have no illusions about the ability of the NSA/GCHQ to get at data. I don't think that I have proclaimed one browser to be the "safest". I'm not qualified to make such a claim or to answer your question. But, if you have some level of understanding about ASLR, you will see why it is hard to claim that a 32bit browser like Chrome can be safer than a 64bit browser.

IE11's change to the user agent string broke several websites. (But I blame the websites for improperly handling the user agent string.) Other changes that IE11 made broke other websites. And IE11 totally barfed the order of shortcuts on the favorites bar. Despite these things, IE11's improvement in the handling of SSL is important enough for me to use IE11 it for certain websites. I use Chrome 32bit for some unimportant things and Pale Moon 64bit (Firefox) for other websites.

As far as Microsoft having to create back doors or security holes. I'm more inclined to believe Dr. Stefan Frei's research.

Possibly NSA could of given the developers of HealthCare.gov some pointers

Any control a user of Chrome thinks they have is an illusion,
One would have to guess Google would delete anything off their servers where everything is stored,
I use Internet explorer for the illusion of personal preferences that Google wants you to download a cookies for this and for that....,

Good thing I am actually completly avoiding Google Chrome since I have had bad experiences with it.

seems whenever I work on a computer that has viruses Trojans or spyware, the only browser they are using is Chrome

Darn, that means almost 100% of my computer and anyone else's computer has security holes no matter what.

It would be off topic to discuss the question much further...
...my point was/is: one can never know if a computer is clear of infections.

One can only say an infection has not been detected on a certain computer by a certain set of tools. One has only to read about infections that antivirus companies discover - then realize that they have not been detecting the infection for years.
