Going on the second day that my Bing Live Traffic Gadget is showing service unavailable. Doing a Google search on this matter only turned up the same issue on the Windows Live Gallery Forum with no resolve.

Any ideas what is going on with this service?

Running Win7 64bit

Running MS Security Essentials (Newer Beta) and Windows 7 Firewall. Can't see that as being a problem unless it was a recent update for Security Essentials that may be interfering.

I guess it couldn't hurt to try and disable MSSE and see what happens.

When I got home this evening the Traffic Map Gadget was displaying a list of Cities to choose from and I'm back in business. So it turns out it wasn't a problem on my end after all.

I had the same problem for several days recently too. I solved it by updating to the latest version of the gadget which is 1.2.0.1 as of Nov. 23, 2009. My older version of 1.2.0.0 had stopped working and the upgrade fixed my problem.

I downloaded it from the Gadget Gallery but for the first time I just noticed an option to check for updates from within the gadget itself. If one clicks the little wrench icon on the side of the gadget and then clicks "About" it can be found under "Check for Updates" as a button labeled "Check Now".

I hope this helps any one else with the same problem...
