Bitlocker and homegroup sharing

Hello, I've tried this before and I'm pretty sure that it wasn't feasible...at least easily. Can you have one bitlocker system and the others without share files in via home group? OR can I get the other systems with bitlocker and use the same encryption key to negate this problem.

Once I bitlocked the one machine it seemed that I couldn't see/share the files in homegroup. It was a while ago and I wasn't familiar with BL. Thank you for reading

It's totally possible to use normal sharing together with BitLocker, each one of those functions are totally independient and work well in conjunction.

Once an encrypted drive is mounted, it behaves like any other normal drive, and data is transparently encrypted and decrypted under the hood. File sharing facilities aren't even aware of that. If you share a bitlocked drive, any client connecting to it won't even know that BitLocker exists, the server system will deal with all that details, the only requirement being you providing the encryption password when initially unlocking it.

Also the encryption keys are never shared, all cryptography is performed on the server (sharing the keys would defeat the purpose of BitLocker, whose entire security relies on keeping the private keys, well...... private).
When reading from a share, BitLocker decrypts it and the plaintext is sent over the network, and when writing, BitLocker ends up receiving the plaintext from the network and saving the encrypted files.
The remote computer doesn't knows anything about this.

But in short, yes, it's totally possible.
