Black box in the top right corner of the screen

Hello,


A black box appears and stays in the top right corner of the screen.


I did a screen shot but the black box does not appear, is not visible on the picture.


I don't know what to perform ; restart, anti-virus software, ccleaner actions didn't work out.


Please help.

Is it possible that it's a gadget on the sidebar? Is there any context menu if you right click on it? On my Win 7 system, two of the gadgets are now white boxes but I haven't tried to do anything with it.

Unfortunately no. No context menu with a right click.


Any idea ?

Perform a Clean Boot, or

Turn Off Gadgets and re-boot.

If the problem goes away, then it is just a process of elimination to find the cause.

Certainly!

You can proceed with Clean Boot just by following Step One in this Windows Seven Tutorial: Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup.

If the Clean Boot succeeds in making the black box disapear, then proceed onto Step Two, in the same Tutorial.

I'm doomed and with this black box.

Can you change Desktop Background or,
Create a new user Account, and Login under this User?

Do you know which Date the black box started?
You could use System Restore to Restore System to before that Date?

Can you try connect computer to a Different Monitor?

Very strange as the black box did not show on the snipping tool.
