Black screen after reboot from driver install G310M

Just did a fresh load of Win 7 Pro 64bit on an ASUS ET2400INT all in one, and after downloading and installing the Nvidia drivers, 285.62, I get a black screen. I can get back into safe mode and delete them, and then the graphics adapter reverts back to "Standard VGA Device". I see lots of others having similar issues, but most have to do with having to mod an .inf file to get the driver to install. I was able to do that, but now get the black screen after restarting...

Please help if you have any idea what the conflict is. Both ASUS and Nvidia point me to this driver as the correct one. I have tried a few other drivers including the beta ones and they all seem to do the same thing.
