When entering fullscreen mode, mostly when playing games, I land on a black screen. I can't exit it and I have to manually reboot the computer. I can still hear the noise from the game, it's just that the screen is black and it blinks every few seconds when on "black screen mode". Any advice?

The first thing you want to check is the minimum system requirements for the problem game. If you meet them all then try running it at the lowest settings to see if that clears the problem.
Check to be sure you are running the most current driver for your graphics chip. Most of the changes made in video drivers is for compatibility with games.
Let us know what you find.

I'm way above the requirements. It's just that when I change my RESOLUTION in a game where my monitor isn't capable of running of (ex: 1440x1024, since my monitor can't run dimensions more than 1440x900), it's just a black screen. I'm not using a laptop.
And this happens in every game I play. At least every game that requires and installation on the computer...

I'm not a big gamer. There is a gamers forum here that you might get better feedback from regarding what you can do to play games in resolutions your monitor does not support.
But isn't that your answer? The monitor can't display resolutions it can't support?

I made a thread a long time ago about my screen resolutions and how to remove the ones I can't use... most of the replies were like "Why would you do that"? I bet this is their answer... -.-

The solution you don't want to hear is always the worst!
But it sounds like you either have to play the games in a resolution your monitor supports, or buy a new monitor that supports the resolutions you want to play the game in.
Don't forget to check the video card too. But a 4800 series should have no issues.
