I faced some weird issues with that Outlook 2010 :-

1-In Sent Items .. some days disappeared and if i restart it ,, the disappeared days show up and other days disappeared and sometimes some sent emails from one day disappear .. Weird huh

2-Blank emails .. with subject only .. i Disabled ( Add-ins ) - (Anti-Spam ) - ( Scan Mail ) i thought it might be a AV problem which i am using Bit-Defender Business Client .. hmmm sometimes i work well sometimes it won't work .. Weird

3- the pst path .. i have one Client got this problem whenever i open his outlook it gives me error message says : the current location for the pst file can not be open .. after two times it work and sometimes after few times .. even if the path is the right path but whatever to Outlook 2010

What a weird Application from Microsoft :D

So What shall we do to Microsoft .. Nothing Smooth :D

Anyway Any Suggestion .. But only a new Suggestion :D

Hi,

Not sleepy at all, just very busy, but thanks for your patience.

I've never seen this problem before, but it sounds like Outlook is having trouble reading from the .PST file.

A few questions:

1. Was the .PST created in Outlook 2010, or an earlier version?
2. What is the exact path to the .PST location?
3. Have you tried installing Outlook, reinstalling it and re-connecting to the .PST?

Something to try first:

1. Open Outlook, click File, then go to Options, then go to Search, and then select Indexing Options...
2. Click on Microsoft Outlook, then Click Advanced
3. Click Rebuild to re-index the .PST

Regards,
Golden

Hi,

It takes ages because we are all volunteers here - we try our best to answer queries as soon as we can.

I suggested the index because I thought it may help solve the .PST issue. However, since the .PST is located on a network, it sounds like that is probably a connectivity issue....I can't be sure since I have no idea how reliable the network is.

The only other thing I can suggest is to check for and repair .PST corruptions:

Repair Outlook Data Files (.pst and .ost) - Outlook - Office.com

Golden

Is this a large PST?, Outlook relies on reading the whole file to present the data, I have seen this problem with remote PST files where connectivity was an issue. If you move the file to local storage, does the issue remain? The way I have solved similar issues ids the basic one of reducing the PST size by archiving to a local file, which also circumvents possible network quota limits

I had the similar issue that emails were downloaded blank. No header, no body no subject - nothing but a date and time in the inbox.
Tried everything on the net to solve this. fixed .pst tweaked all settings, repaired Outlook install -on and on

After 5 days of grief trying to figure it out, it turns out that I got a clue from testing Thunderbird email. After I originally installed that, it worked fine, (Opera mail did not when I installed that) After a short while, Thunderbird too showed the same symptoms. This led me to investigate the antivirus I had installed. (McaFee internet suite) I had already deactivated the email scanning both from the email clients and from within the Mcafee control panel. No success. (you would assume deliberately turning off a feature would actually turn it off but not so)

Only after I completely uninstalled Mcafee and you must use BOTH windows uninstall first and then their own downloadable uninstall tool to completely remove this pestiferous program. McAfee Removal Tool - Uninstall McAfee

I opted to install Avast free version and everything seems to be operational now.

This was an extremely aggravating problem that cost me a lot of time so I hope my sad tale helps somebody.

Good luck with this one.

Have you tried recreating your outlook profile? I have just had an issue with this today for a client of ours, recreating the outlook profile has done the job.

I would say this is network related. By moving your PST file to your PC you will solver this issue. Give it a go and see how it is then you will know for sure. If it is network you need to investigate what is running over the network. Do you have VOIP and if so how is the routers setup for this .

To embarrassed to tell lol
I tried all variations of that that with no success.
It took a long time to solve this issue but the answer was that Mcaffee antivirus was the culprit. I had to completely uninstall Mcaffee, not just using control panel uninstall, and not using 3rd party uninstallers like reveo, You must use the Mcaffee uninstaller to completely clean your system of this pest. Then I got my emails back and I installed Avast free antivirus and all is right with the world. I began to suspect an AV issue when I installed another email app as a last resort and it worked for a short time then exhibited the same blank email behaviour as outlook. This led me to believe that a 3ed party app was the issue. Very very annoying problem.
