I guess this is my last port of call on this one...its driving me nuts now...officially!

Im having some major issues with my new windows 7 pc. Ive got so many black screen of deaths now its untrue. These are happening anywhere from 2 minutes of use and 10 hours of use throughout the day (sometimes 2 or three times a day)

My error is a blue screen but what actually happens is the screen goes completely black and my pc restarts itself. Its like it had a power cut. This is displayed upon restart:

Anyone have an idea what this is? Ive read online and tried the 'prevx' solution to this problem as its quite a common problem it seems. That didnt help my issue though.

Ive included a the memory dump file. Can anyone here help me?

Many thanks

hi and welcome

Pretty straight forward. Hardware use these to help identify what. http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/35349-2-int-stop-0x124-what-means-what-try.html

I would start with memory
download and run memtestx86 for 5 passes
run a system file check
type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow

If you are overclocking stop

I must say i dont know a thing about overclocking, i got this system custom made less than 2-3 weeks ago. Seemed to run fine before i installed things but the restore point from when they created it has vanished (?). If i try to reinstall the OS will my overclocked stats still be in check?

all your drivers are up to date and it's the NT kernel that's crashing so at this point i would normally believe it to be hardware and the BugCheck of 124, which is related to WHEA (Windows Hardware Error Architecture)

But ......... the fact you get a black screen then bluescreen could suggest a driver conflict between a device and your PCIE graphics card , so display crashes to black screen then times out trying to recover and the NT kernel crashes ?

To debug this you need to be looking in "performance information and tools\advanced" and in event viewer create a custom view and select critical, warning, error and possibly verbose if you feel the need ?

To stress your hardware we need a ram test so please burn to CD (using an ISO burner) & run from boot memtest86+ for at least 3 passes , also move the sticks around to different slots to fully test. No memtest uses ram quite how windows 7 does but this is the closest we can get .........

what AV and firewall do you use plz :)

if you are overclocking it will either be software within windows (which you lose if you reinstall) or settings in the BIOS, If your just not sure ask the supplier or look around within windows , you can also reset BIOS to default to stop any preset overclocking ?

whatever you do make sure you have your personal data backed up in case you lose your system and have to reinstall ;)
