Blue Screen Crash On Win 7 x86

How are you able to view these logs? Also how did you narrow that down? I have not had that connected the last 2 days, but the first time it started I was configuring an Enterasys switch and that usb to serial adapter was connected. So just because the driver is on the system it is causing the system to crash? I cannot view the driver in device manager unless the cable is installed, should I plug in the cable an un-install the driver?

Can this driver cause the problem even though the cable is not in use?

Yes... just because the cable is not plugged in does not mean that the driver is not being loaded...Follow Jonathans excellent advise, and let us know what happes..

This is the driver you need to remove: ser2pl64.sys

Go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\ and delete ser2pl64.sys.

I use Microsoft's Debugging Tools for Windows. See this page if you are interested in learning to debug yourself: http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...intermediate-configuring-debugging-tools.html

I went 10 days without a crash and then it did it again. I tried to find a updated driver for my usb2serial connector, but maybe this one is the problem also. I have attahced the dump.

Pretty straightforward, Novell is causing the problem. Uninstall that completely using Revo Uninstaller.

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffff88003d53c2b, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: fffff8800e1e82c8, Exception Record Address

Well this is shocking. Anyway, how could I have gone from a usb2serial driver to a novell driver problem? Does this mean that most drivers are not 100% compat for Win 7? If I remove Novell, what problem is going to appear next?

You never know. Maybe Novell was the problem in the first place, and it only looked like the other things were the problem. All you can do is try stuff until you find the solution.

Now, I know from previous experiences that tools like Novell can cause BSODs. Therefore, it does not seem unlikely that Novell is the cause.
