Try to make backup as soon as possible. And/or copy import stuff to external disk.
You're harddisk is dying!!! A reinstall won't solve that... it's an hardware error.
Do it asap..don't wait!

Very theoretically it can be a virus... but even from recovery environment it takes hours to simply chkdsk.

Buy a new disk. windows 7 home premium you have(?) Is it 64bits? english version?
You have a valid product key (look for COA sticker [Certicate Of Authenticity] somewhere on laptop)?

English: Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 (64bits) X17-58997.iso

Install missing drivers from windows update, or manufacturer site. Check "device manager" for "other devices"

Now, what do you think that suggests? RAM issues as well or it's 100% sure that the HDD is not working properly?

Because I don't wan't to buy a new HDD and then do a clean install with WINDOWS 8, as I said before I have a DVD for it. And then the same problem occurs, so I have to be 100% sure that that's what the issue is?

If you can also recommend me any software which I can use which could probably do a systems scan or something and gives us the information with what is wrong with the system or stuff?

• faulty sata cable. unlikely
• faulty controller. unlikely, but possible. Attach disk to another system and do ther wdc datalifeguard test.

I will run through an Extended Test on the Memory and i'll post the update here then, just to make sure that there isn't any problem apart from the HDD then.

Yeah, that's true, we did that Extended Test on HDD and it failed for too many Bad Sectors anyway.

So, yeah as I said, I'll post the results of the memory test now and then we can check if that's ok and I then should go for a new HDD.

Umnountable boot volume win 7

hi guys first of all excuse my english ive been out of practice for some time. after 2days struggling trying to fix my sata hdd without having to format it, which was suggested by the operating system itself, i found a solution that worked for me and hoppefully will 4u2. first of all, ive read lots of foruns and i realized that what i faced was far more complicated than in the foruns. my bsod didnt give me options to go to computer repair once iput a win 7 dvd,or even use cd repair. it tried to login making me choose between startup repair or sth like and start windows normally. either one was a dead end coz it would nevert log in. so i unmount the hdd and use it as external in my bros laptop. guess what? i had two particions (c and d, c being main) and c was asking to format while d was working normally. had lots of important files in c so formatting was the last option. now what i did is open cmd (command line) as admin and type: chkdsk j: /f /x then eneter. f verifies the format and x corrects errors in drive. and remember, j is my hard drive, so if urs says d or e or whatever in ur pc then replace j by that character. after that u will see a process running in cmd window, be patient and it will make ur partition ot hard drive recognized by the laptop. when its hit 100% plug it back to ur laptop as hdd, not as external hard drive. now it will give u the option to repair pc when u use win 7 dvd. from there once u choose to repair, go to bottom option and choose cmd prompt to type:bootrec /fixboot which will fix ur boot. hdd up and running again. hope it works for u.
