Hi all,

In the last month or 2 i've started getting a blue screen happy occasionally while playing a game called "SMITE". It doesn't happen when im just browsing or listening to music ect. I don't play any other game on my pc so can't comment on if it happens on other games or not. The blue screen says "Beginning dump of physical memory" at the bottom.
I've followed the guide so hopefully what i've attached is the info you need. I have no idea about computers so you'll have to bare with me :p.

Any help would be great
Thanks

Hello, Signori and welcome to the forums. I looked at your dump files and everything looked pretty consistent

Code:
Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.
BugCheck 116, {fffffa800a1ba010, fffff88006ab9848, 0, 2}
Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\atikmpag.sys, Win32 error 0n2

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for win32k.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for win32k.sys
Probably caused by : atikmpag.sys ( atikmpag+b848 )

Code:
VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116)
Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffffa800a1ba010, Optional pointer to internal TDR recovery context (TDR_RECOVERY_CONTEXT).
Arg2: fffff88006ab9848, The pointer into responsible device driver module (e.g. owner tag).
Arg3: 0000000000000000,

Please update your driver and follow these suggestions

What I would like to is have you reinstall the graphics driver, I would just like you to try it a little different. Please just install just the graphics driver and nothing else. Follow these instructions to try to get a good clean install and see if that works any better.

I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/329659-latest-amd-catalyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall you current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/83814-drivers-clean-left-over-files-after-uninstalling.html and select only ATI Display Drivers. After you have done that and rebooted, install the new driver, only select custom install and install only what you have to. Very few people need most of what they include. You do not need the audio/HDMI drivers as you already have that in your Motherboard drivers. Unless there is some reason you need them, the only thing you really need is the Display Driver.

Signori, if you don't mind please upload all files and screenshots here. This will tell you how.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html

That is the same error you have been getting. Please make sure you have a GPU temp monitoring program and watch your temps closely. If you temps get too high, stop the test. Please run Furmark (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/100356-video-card-stress-test-furmark.html). It is a video card stress test. It will cause your GPU temps to rise quickly and very high. Let it run until the temps level out and quit rising any more. Also, please post a screenshot here of the test just before you stop it. Again, if your temps get too high, stop the test.

Also, please upload the BSOD Posting instructions again.

Debugging Details:

We've tried several drivers, I believe but still the same problem. If you have one or can borrow one from a friens, try a different graphics card and see if You have the same problem. The best way would be if you have someone who would swap cards with you for a day or two. That would tell you most of what you want to know. I would like to know the Manufacturer and model of your PSU. It will be on a sticker on the side of the PSU. See if you can also give me the Amps on the +12V rail. Also, go into BIOS and give me the readings for the +12V, +5V and +3.3V.

Its a 7950, so it seems its underpowered?
Any reason why it's been ok for the last few years until a couple of months ago? I've been playing the same game for the last 12 months at least.

I'm not saying that is what is causing your problems, but it is possible. But, a PSU can lose some of it's output over a few years as capacitors age. In any case I would think when running a stress test you would be pushing it pretty hard for that PSU. But again, I'm not saying that is a cause of your problems.

Ok makes sense. I don't think i have anyone i'll be able to borrow a graphics card from unfortunately, pretty much everyone i know just has a laptop instead of a desktop.
How confident are you that its related to the graphics card or PSU? Is it worth me looking to update both parts?

I'm honestly not sure about any of it. Graphics problems are almost always, Drivers, the card, the Motherboard or the PSU. There is little else involved. You've tried a few drivers with the same result, so I was making a suggestion that would be free, to confirm or deny the card and/or the Motherboard. The only way to know for sure, is to put a good known working graphics card in. I certainly wouldn't want to buy another graphics card on an 'it might be'. I would want to know for sure before buying anything. At least as sure as you can be.

I'm sorry, but when you get down to this point, there is little else to do except swapping parts to find out which one it is. Buying the parts can get pretty expensive
