Bookmark Syncing frustrations

I've been using XMarks for a long time to back up my bookmarks. I have another PC which I want to back up my bookmarks from as well. Uploading bookmarks from one computer or the other (different browsers), overrides the other computers bookmarks. I've contacted XMarks support regarding this problem; unfortunately there solution doesn't work. I'm done my share of searching for an alternative, which can fill these gaps.

I don't know which browser(s) you are using, but I'll give it as if you are using Firefox. Go to the Add-ons page (or if you have the button on your toolbar just right click it from there). Open the Xmarks menu options. There is a tab for Profiles. What you need to do if you don't want the exact same bookmarks on all computers is to create a different profile for each computer you want to back up. You can also go to the Sync tab, and un-check the auto sync feature, but next time you do sync, it will override the bookmarks on the computer. The best way is through the Profiles manager. You can create multiple profiles, and even change profiles on existing computers back and forth.

I have profiles setup on XMarks. When selecting the profile when on the computer which I want to sync the bookmarks from it either overrides or adds bookmarks for another profile, really a mess !
