I have a USB hard drive that prevents the bootup process from starting. If I unplug it and reboot, the system boots normally. After booting the system, if I connect the USB hard drive the system sees the hard drive and I can read and write to it. I would like to attach the USB hard drive to my computer, boot the system, and have the system discover the hard drive and attach it so after the bootup process finishes I can read/write to the USB hard drive. What causes this not to happen?
