Hi

Ive been trying to change to boot sequence on my friends PC as it is messed up. The problem is when I try and save my new boot order with F10 it doesn't do anything and doesn't save it.

I couldn't tell you the model number at the moment as I am not there, but it is a Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3 motherboard, probably about 5yrs old.

Thanks

After hitting F10 save and exit, are you getting Y and N ?

Are you clicking Y yes ?

Can you also post back a camera snap of the choices and tell us what changes you're trying to make?

I am basically trying to change the boot order from I cant remember at the moment but it had something like boot from harddrive first. I cant remember but if I was there I can tell you the exact order it has. I can go there later and tell u.

I was trying to change it to USB FDD (I think thats what it said. Wasnt exactly sure what to set as a first boot), CD Rom and then hard drive. When I hit the F!0 key which is supposed to be save and exit it doesn't come up with a choice Y or N it just doesn't do anything. so I cant save.

Also I don't know how to do a camera snap

Thanks

A camera snap is just that, a picture of the screen using a camera.

You have it correct, set it to cd/dvd drive 1st then the hard drive 2nd.

Check the date if you can in the bios, make sure it is correct. The battery on the motherboard could be going bad.

Good news I made the boot sequence stick. Funny thing if i changed the boot sequence and then hit F10 then nothing happened. But whilst looking on the previous page that had all the different catagories you could go to there was a Save and Exit option there. Punched that and it gave me a yes and no option. Clicked Y and it was done.

Shut it down and restarted and the Boot from CD/DVD option was there.

Thanks
