Boot Up Problem (Start Up)

hi,
i am using dell inspiron 15R , what i did ...... I suddenly shut down that lappy while it s updating windows, By the next time if i start my pc....welcome screen is coming...but desktop not coming. So i pressed Alt+Ctrl+Del Button and select switch user then i got again welcome screen but not the desktop, I did twice to see my desktop(means switch user procedure) .....Form that time onwards by each time I am doing switch user twice,then only desktop coming,I repair my system ...but no use ....plz help me on this

Hi, welcome to the forums

When you say 'Repaired my system' I'm presuming you mean the 'Startup Repair' that shows if Windows 7 refuses to boot?

You may want to try this:

Slowly tap F8 as your machines boots to access the boot menu then select 'Repair Computer' from the top. Once started you have the option to select 'Startup Repair' or 'System Restore', select the Retore option and choose a point before the install of the updates. This will restore your system files and should ignore the updates as they were after that particular restore point.

Do you have more than one User account? Can you access each of them?
