Booting taking considerably longer after reinstalling Windows 7 on SSD

After doing a complete reinstall of Windows 7 on my Crucial M4 SSD, I'm noticing it takes considerably longer to boot into Windows than it used to on my previous install. I suspect there could be a lot of potential causes for this, but I'm not sure where to even start. Any suggestions?

"considerably longer" is ambiguous; how long does it take to boot? In my experience, if the answer is between one to four minutes it's acceptable, but that's just me.

Also, as you probably know, boot time is not relevant to performance.

A ssd should take less then 30 seconds, and even for a ssd, that`s long.

Have you done all the updates ? ( Specifically the chipset drivers )

Is it connected to an Intel 6 Gbps sata port ?

Has Intel Rapid Storage Technology been installed ?

The boot time depends on how you calculate it. If you are referring to a cold boot, the POST process takes longer than the time it takes Windows 7 to load once the system hands it off to the OS. The time from when I first see the Windows logo to where the login screen appears is usually about 15-30 seconds on my laptop, but that doesn't include the POST boot time.

As I already stated, my opinion is that boot time is insignificant and performance is what counts.

My MSI box takes 20 seconds from the time I push the power button to the desktop

That`s what I consider a bootup.

But we still don`t have a clue to his actual boot time.

My system boots in ~40 seconds as a rule on a WD Green HDD (this is my recently completed reinstall).

Make sure your motherboard SATA drivers are up to date (or at least working).

I had all sorts of "fun & games" trying to get my 3TB HDD working.
It turns out the motherboard SATA driver couldn't handle 3TB HDDs.
Once I deleted it and fell back to the W7 SATA driver, my issues went away.

Can you post a picture of your disk management. I suspect the bootmgr landed on a HDD.

In addition compare the install you did with the perfect install compiled in Clean Reinstall Windows 7

Be sure to operate with a Clean Boot and use the other tools, methods and optimizations which work best with Win7.
