Booting

I installed Windows 7 on my SSD drive but when I put back my old hard drive which is a SATA 3 with my old Windows 7 and disconnected the SSD drive it wouldn’t boot. I have an older computer that I have 3 hard drives which are removeable drives and they all boot into their OS. So I’m wondering how I can boot back to my old Hard Drive which I made into a removable drive so I can plug it in if I need it?

I suspect your boot partiton now resides on the SSD. Did you have the HDD attached when you installed 7?
How did you "made it a removeable drive"?

Unplug the other SSD/HD's, set this HD as first to boot in BIOS setup, boot into System Recovery Options on Win7 DVD or System Repair Disk.

Open a Command Line to mark the Win7 partition on HD Active. Partition - Mark as Active (Method Two)

CLose Command Box, run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times until Win7 boots on its own and holds the System Active flags.

You can now plug back in the other HD's and boot them using the one-time BIOS Boot menu key.

Bios

The bottom line on this computer is I just have to change the boot in the BIOS on which hard drive I want. So if my SSD drive crashes I will insert my other Windows 7 drive which I have in the draw change the boot and I'm back in business. I'm just going to keep the drive as a backup.
