Hello,
I am trying to get a Bose Soundlink Mini to connect to a Dell Latitude E7450 running Win 7 Pro SP1. I am 3 feet from the laptop.
The Bose device shows up under Devices and Printers. When I click on Troubleshoot, I receive the message "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem." I have uninstalled the device and rebooted.
It does not show up under Sound/Playback/Devices.
I tried the install as admin. I have verified that I have all the latest updates from Dell.
The Bose device does not have its own driver. I contacted Bose tech support and they verified that I have tried to install it correctly. I can connect (via Bluetooth) this Bose unit to my home computer. I followed their instructions to reset the Bose device to factory settings.
I can connect my Android phone to this laptop via Bluetooth.
Under Bluetooth Settings, I have these options checked:
Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer
Connections:
Allow all Bluetooth devices to connect...
Alert me when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect
Show the Bluetooth icon in the notification area
Device Manager
Bluetooth Radios
DW1560 Bluetooth 4.0 LE
Properties/Location: Port_#0003.Hub_#002
Driver 6.5.1.5800 7/17/14
Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator
Properties/Location: On DW1560 Bluetooth 4.0 LE
Driver: 6.1.7601.17889 6/21/2006
One odd issue - Under Other devices, there is an item listed as Bluetooth Peripheral Device with a yellow !
When I tried to update the driver, I received a message that "Windows was unable to install your Bluetooth Peripheral Device"
When I uninstall that item, it reinstall when I reboot.
I do not have any other Bluetooth device nearby. And I have my cell phone turned off so that doesn't have an impact.
I spent an hour on the phone with Dell professional support and they are stumped.
So, I did a web search, found this forum and I am asking for any guidance anyone might have on ho to solve this little but annoying problem.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
